Raised in the church in LaGrange, Georgia, Lloyd Buchanan began his musical journey under the guidance of his mother. He developed his skills as a pianist and organist while accompanying church choirs and gospel quartets.

As an adult, Lloyd moved south to Columbus, Georgia, to expand his musical knowledge and reach. His discipline, leadership, and experience directing worship quickly established him as a respected presence within the local music community. In the mid-2000s, he was given the opportunity to arrange background vocals for a Grammy Award-winning artist The Heavy, marking the beginning of his mainstream music career.

Lloyd later became a background vocalist for Alabama Shakes and Grammy Award-winning artist Brittany Howard. In addition to his work supporting renowned performers, Lloyd is also an accomplished solo artist with a distinctive voice and commanding musical presence.
